TWO FORMER EMPLOYEES WHO HAD WORKED FOR THE ZUCKERBERG FAMILY FILE LAWSUITS AGAINST MARK ZUCKERBERG, PRISCILLA CHAN, AND RELATED ENTITIES
STATEMENT OF ATTORNEYS ON BEHALF OF FORMER ZUCKERBERG EMPLOYEES
Employee Justice Legal Group, PC has filed two lawsuits in the California Superior Court, County of San Francisco against Mark Zuckerberg, Priscilla Chan, the corporations that were ostensibly formed to provide security and property management services for the Zuckerberg family (“Corporate Defendants”), and various individuals acting as supervisors and/or managers on behalf of these Corporate Defendants.
The Complaints filed on behalf of the former employees (“Plaintiffs”), who have already been subjected to abhorrent harassment as alleged in the Complaints and wish to retain the very limited privacy they have left given the circumstances, set forth factual allegations that the Corporate Defendants and their managers victimized Plaintiffs. Plaintiffs allege that they endured a litany of sexist, racist, and homophobic comments made by the Corporate Defendant managers. Further, Plaintiffs allege that the Corporate Defendants engaged in a ruthless retaliatory campaign against them after Plaintiffs had complained about the unlawful conduct of their supervisors. Plaintiffs are no longer employed by Defendants, but the pain and suffering stemming from their trauma and Corporate Defendants’ misconduct as alleged in the Complaint continues today.
Plaintiffs are hopeful that the Zuckerbergs will acknowledge the serious nature of the allegations against Corporate Defendants and call for the Zuckerbergs to provide them with the same opportunity for a fair and open resolution in a court of law, just as they provide for the employees of Facebook. Serious allegations such as these should not be decided behind the closed doors of an arbitration proceeding. As alleged in the Complaints, Plaintiffs seek justice for the harassment and unlawful treatment to which they were subjected during their faithful and tireless employment serving the Zuckerberg family.
In this David versus Goliath situation, Plaintiffs have found the courage to seek justice for the wrongs they allege they were subjected to in the hopes that truth will prevail. Plaintiffs are eager to exercise their constitutional rights to have the truth heard, and this matter decided, by a jury from their community and not by a private arbitrator paid for by the very same entities Plaintiffs accuse of wrongdoing.
